Saraki denies plans to return to PDP

Senator Bukola Saraki on Monday said he had no intention of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party.
This information was contained in a statement signed by the former Secretary of the PDP in Kwara State, Chief Yemi Afolayan, in Ilorin.
Saraki, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District and former governor of Kwara State, denied any link or manipulation to return to the PDP he ditched for the All progressives Congress with his followers.
The statement said: “Insinuations that we are pleading to come back to the PDP can only exist in the infantile imagination of those behind the rumour.
“It is crystal clear to all Nigerians by now that what we have engaged ourselves with is not the politics of the stomach as must be the pastime of those who could have sat down to author such wild rumour.”
The statement assured the people of the state that Saraki was still in APC and would remain in APC.
It added: “I want to assure my people across the length and breadth of Kwara that we have decided together to move with the tide of time.
“We are in a secured position where we are now and the changes in the leadership of PDP are not enough to make us change that decision.”
According to the statement, those peddling the rumour that he is returning to PDP are saying so because they know they cannot deliver their wards during elections.
Saraki was further quoted as saying: “I urge my people to disregard them and go about the task of building a formidable APC in the state.”
