Rivers Hoopers continued their unbeaten run at the Nigeria Premier Basketball League with an 87-30 win over Invaders of Ekiti in Akure on Tuesday.
Emmanuel Balogun led other three Hoopers’ players to finish on double figures. He made 14 points, including four 3-pointers in the game.
Buchi Nwaiwu had 11 points while Victor Koko Anthony and Johnson Anaiye both made 10 points each.
Invaders put up a good fight in the second quarter but Hoopers proved too strong for them as they took a 33-point lead at half time (49-16).
Anaiye was red-hot in the third quarter shooting five straight baskets for the KingsMen.
Hoopers made 13 threes and made 10 of 14 from the free throw line.
Rivers Hoopers will next face Kwara Falcons in the battle of the Atlantic Conference Leaders.
Ahead of our next game against Kwara Falcons, Rivers Hoopers head coach Ogoh Odaudu expects an explosive game.
“We are going to go all out to get a win. Like I said we are expecting to go unbeaten. Kwara Falcons are the other team that have not lost a game so it’s going to be quite explosive but all in all we are hoping to come out of that game with a win and win well.”
