Prime Football Club continued their good run in the Federation Cup as they defeated Nigeria Premier League side, Warri Wolves Football Club, at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, Kogi State.
The Omoluabi Giants progressed to the Round of 16 via a 4-2 penalty shootout after the full time ended 0-0.
The 2012 Federation Cup giants killers safehand, Adejare Adeniyi, was Prime’s hero yet again, saving two Wolves spot kicks for Prime to qualify for the Federation Cup round of 16.
The Nigeria Premier League team gained possession of the first half with the National League side giving Wolves so much respect and they were unable to convert the chances they created.
Prime came into the second half with more determination and dominated the game but lacked a cutting edge to convert chances as the regulation time ended barren.
Prime will keep a date against First Bank in the Round of 16 of the competition.
