Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended four suspected members of the Aye Confraternity for terrorising residents of Ijoko, Sango-Ota, and surrounding areas.
The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday.
According to her, the suspects – Olanide Balogun, Olamilekan Oyedele, Adeolu Olayinka, and Abdulganiyu Azeez – were arrested around 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
Odutola further disclosed that the suspects’ modus operandi involved breaking car windows and attacking innocent road users during traffic jams.
She noted that the Divisional Police Officer of Sango-Ota, following a tip-off, led a team to raid the location, resulting in the suspects’ apprehension.

“The suspects initially scattered upon seeing the police operatives, but the DPO pursued and caught one of them, leading to the subsequent arrest of the others with the help of the initial suspect.
“The suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation,” Odutola added.
