The Nasarawa State Police Command said its operatives have arrested five notorious armed robbery suspects on Monday at New Karu in Karu local council.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Namsel made this known on Tuesday in a statement made available to newsmen in Lafia, the state Capital.
According to the PRO, at about 3;45 am on Monday, a distress call was received by the Divisional Police officer, New Karu Division, that there was an ongoing armed robbery operation at High Tension Community, New Karu where hoodlums in their numbers were attacking residents of the area and carting away their belongings.
“The police in a quick response to the attack by the hoodlums mobilised his men and moved to the scene; on sighting, the operatives, hoodlums took to their heels, but were given a hot chase which led to the arrest of one Abubakar Nasiru 21yrs, Yusuf Abdullahi 18yrs, Bashiru Sani 35yrs, and Ibrahim Adamu all males of New Karu.
“Consequently, Two Laptops, Eight mobile phones of different brands, one Power Bank, an MP3 Player, 3 ATM cards, one Dane gun, A flat screen television set, three flash drives, one cutlass and a catapult were recovered from the suspects as exhibits,” he stated.

In another development, the Command said its operatives attached to Karshi Division arrested one Danjuma Mujumba of Orozo in FCT Abuja, a notorious motorcycle Snatcher and recovered a stolen motorcycle.
The police explained that the suspect attacked an unsuspecting commercial motorcyclist and snatched his Bajaj Motorcycle shortly before his arrest.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for exhaustive investigation and prosecution
