Police arrest armed robbery suspect in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a Beretta pistol.

The Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri, said this in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Jalige, on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Umar said the suspect was arrested at about 8:30pm on January 2 at 16, Unguwan Bulus Street, Sabon Tasha area of Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

Muri said prior to his arrest, the suspect and his gang members had allegedly been terrorising the area and dispossessing innocent citizens of their valuables.

The Commissioner said the suspect was giving the police useful information that would lead to the arrest of his gang members currently at large.

He said the police had intensified efforts were to arrest all the suspects and make them to face the law.

Muri urged members of the various communities to cooperate with the police on matters of public safety and security as it is everybody’s business.
