Following the peaceful resolution of conflict that has engulfed Nigeria football ruling authorities for some years, the Kwara State Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, has commended the Secretary to Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, and Minister for Sports, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi, for successfully mediating in the crisis.
Ejidike, who appreciated the wisdom and high sense of responsibility employed by the duo, called on all concerned parties and all the stakeholders to uphold the banner of peace.
Ejidike called on Nigeria Football Federation and the Nigeria Premier League Board to radiate trust and the confidence reposed in them.
In another development, Ejidike has assured the National Sports Commission, North Central Zone II, of his readiness to contribute to sports development and promotion in the zone.
The pillar of sports gave his words when the Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Alli Durotoye, led his team to Ejidike on a courtesy visit.
Earlier, Durotoye solicited for sponsorship of a sport of Ejidike’s choice to form part of the zone’s sports programme for the year.
Ejidike similarly gave his words of assurance to the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin Sports Committee, that also solicited for support towards the NATCEGE coming up in April in Rivers State.
Kwara State College of Education Sports Committee was led by Dr. Abubakar Ibrahim when the members paid a courtesy call on him.
Ejidike enjoined the contingent to win laurels for the state in the inter-collegiate competition even as he advised athletes and players to abhor any habit that may tarnish the image of the college.
He noted that sports is a universal language of peace and love hence the need to encourage sports among all ages and groups in Nigeria.
