The Peoples Democratic Movement has hailed the governors and leaders
of the Peoples Democratic Party who staged a walkout at the Special
National Convention of the party on Saturday.
The PDM described the governors and leaders of the PDP as brave.
A statement by Chairman of the PDM, Mallam Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim,
signed by his Media Advisor, Alaba Yusuf, said the governors were
brave for refusing to participate in an election that did not offer a
level playing ground.
Bashir said the difference between the PDM and the PDP was that his
own party stood for true democracy, equity and fairness.
Bashir said: “We appreciate the bold, brave and patriotic stand of
these delegates for refusing to participate in an election which they
knew gave no even playing ground to all stakeholders.”
He also added that PDM, a party of true democracy, equity and fairness
stand shoulder to shoulder with all true democrats who wish to make
Nigeria great again through positive political change.
Meanwhile, the PDM said it will soon throw open its online and manual
registration of prospective members within and outside the country.
