A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has been appointed as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council.
This was confirmed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Director-General of the PDP PCC, on Sunday.
In a statement he issued on the development, Tambuwal said: “The leadership of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council wishes to formally announce that Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has been appointed as a member of the Presidential Campaign Council with immediate effect.
“This is part of our continuous effect in joining hands with our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to recover our great country, Nigeria.”
Dogara was one of the Christians who led the opposition to the Muslim-Muslim ticket of his former party, All Progressives Congress.
The group formed against the opposition eventually agreed to back former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the 2023 presidential election.
