A Lagos State-based clergy, Pastor Udoh Okon, has been arrested by the police for defiling a nine-year-old girl.
The pastor, who was arrested on April 18, 2018, was paraded on Wednesday by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi.
According to Imohimi, Okon, who is the Pastor-in-Charge of Christ Abiding Church, Bankole Street, Famous Bus Stop, Shomolu, Lagos State, was reported at Pedro Police Station, Shomolu on April 18, 2018 by Peace Effiong, the mother of the nine-year-old.
Effiong said her daughter had been behaving unusual and as such on April 13, 2018 while the little girl was asleep, she observed that semen was dripping from her private part.
She said she was alarmed, so she woke up the little girl who told her that Okon had been having unlawful carnal knowledge of her since last year.
The child victim went further to reveal that it was in the Pastor’s wife’s shop that she was defiled.
Though Okon denied the denied the allegation, medical examination conducted on the girl revealed that her hymen had been ruptured long ago, an indication that the suspect had been having carnal knowledge of her long before the discovery, Imohimi said.
He said investigation into the case is in progress.
