Over 200 members of the terrorists organisation, Boko Haram, have surrendered to Nigerian troops in Banki Town, Borno State.
Nigerian troops on Thursday captured the economic important and strategic town of Banki in Borno State, which is equally noted for fishing.
Major economic and trading activities among Nigeria, Cameroon and Central African countries takes place in Banki town.
During the previous encounter, Nigerian troops not only recaptured the town, but several Boko Haram terrorists were taken alive while the stubborn ones who refused to surrender were killed in the military offensive.
The spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Sni Kukasheka Usman, has confirmed the developments in a text message to PRNigeria.
