Governor Alex Otti has approved the payment of N70,000 as minimum wage for Abia workers with effect from October end.
Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, disclosed this during a briefing on the outcome of this week’s Executive Council meeting.
At the meeting in Umuahia, the state capital, Kanu said it was in line with the Governor’s empathy for workers.

He said: “Payment of minimum wage will commence in the next few days. The Governor has approved that.”
