Osun PDP suspends deputy chairman

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended its Deputy Chairman, Dr. Bashiru Salami, for alleged anti-party activities.
The PDP had in March suspended its Secretary, retired Major Raphael Towobola, also on allegations of anti-party activities.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, announced the suspension of Salami on Wednesday.
In a statement, Olaoluwa accused Salami of boycotting the activities of the PDP.
He also accused his deputy of romance with the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress.
Salami is a loyalist of a former Governor of the state, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, who has fallen out with the PDP over the handling of the primaries for the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
Adeleke and Salami are said to be firming up arrangements to defect to the APC.
