Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and a former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Kalu, have commiserated with the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, over the death of his mother, Hajia Aisha Abubakar.
Oshiomhole, in a condolence letter to Abubakar, said: “On behalf of the people and Government of Edo State, I wish to extend condolence to you on the passing on of your beloved mother, Although she was advanced in age, we appreciate how much pain her death would still have caused you, knowing how tenderly close you were to her.
“However, with Allah SWT’s consoling grace, there is no loss too much that we cannot bear, once we appreciate that His will prevails on all of us. Our prayer to Allah SWT is to comfort you and give you the courage to bear the loss.
“While we mourn her, we are all consoled by Hajia’s worthy life as a wife and mother. This is evident in the quality of children she raised, especially our friend and brother, the current Inspector-General of Police. This is why her life deserves to be celebrated even as we mourn.
“We join you in supplication to Allah SWT to forgive Mama her transgressions and grant her the honour of Aljanah Firdaus as benefitting a faithful servant.
“Kindly convey our commiseration and prayers to other members of the family. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.”
In a statement on Thursday, Kalu also commiserated Abubakar over the death on Wednesday of his mother.
Kalu said that Abubakar should take consolation in the facts that he was the one who survived his mother and that she left behind worthy children who are making their marks in the country.
He said though no matter how long a loved one lives, the person is bound to be missed once dead, Abubakar should be grateful to God that she left worthy legacies behind.
He prayed God to grant her eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
