The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has described the state as investors’ destination of choice.
The governor disclosed this on Thursday when he received in audience the Netherlands Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Bert Ronhaar; Deputy Ambassador, Mr. Hans de Brabander; and Trade and Economic Adviser to the embassy, Mrs. Peace Quadt, at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Amosun said agriculture used to be the chief support of the state’s economy and his administration was in the process of restoring the glory of the state in the sector.
He stated the readiness of his administration to partner with the Kingdom of Netherlands in the areas of agriculture, waterways, horticulture and power generation.
“This will generate employment for our people and create wealth,” the governor said.
Ronhaar commended the governor for the good roads, beautiful facilities and fresh ambience of the state, which he described as catalysts to foreign investments.
He said his country was ready to invest in Ogun State in areas such as energy, agriculture and food processing.
The state’s Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun; Commissioner for Commerce, Bimbo Ashiru; and Deputy Chief of Staff, Shuaib Salisu, were among top government functionaries that received the delegation.
