The presidential candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has expressed sadness over the death of former Chief of Staff of the defunct Biafran Army, General Alexander Madiebo.
The former two-term Anambra State governor passed his condolence message on Saturday in a statement.
In the statement to the Madiebo family, to the Igbo people and Nigeria in general, Obi stated that the late General was a Nigerian in good standing and a principled and gallant soldier.
Obi described Madiebo’s death as a huge loss to his family, to the Igbo nation and to the entire country, who saw him as a symbol of wisdom, courage and strength.
He noted that his good legacies left behind will continue to be appreciated by generations to come.
He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest, and all who mourn him the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.
