The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it has arrested seven suspects for allegedly vandalising streetlight cables in Kano State.
This was contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Corps, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, on Thursday in Kano.
He said operatives of the Corps arrested the suspects during a raid to rid the state of criminal elements vandalising critical national assets and infrastructure.

Idris-Abdullahi said four of the suspects (names withheld) had been arrested for allegedly receiving 150mm stolen armoured cable at Dulu Mariri Quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
He said operatives of the Corps deployed to Nasarawa Division apprehended three other suspects (names withheld) for alleged vandalism and theft of street light armoured cables at Tudun Murtala Quarters in Kano metropolis.
“Operatives of the Corps are on the trail of two other suspects who are now at large,” he said.
According to him, the investigation has been completed and the suspects would soon be charged to court.
