The Nigeria Governors’ Forum Internally Generated Revenue Conference is being organised by the NGF Secretariat in partnership with the Department for International Development and the World Bank.
The purpose of the peer learning event is to provide a platform for sharing practical and effective measures to help boost domestic revenue mobilization in states and local government areas.
It is also to present short, medium and long-term strategies for improving and sustaining revenue sources within the current challenging fiscal environment.
The Conference is scheduled to hold on November 16 and 17, 2015 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, beginning from 8:30am daily.
Key participants are the Commissioners of Finance, Commissioners of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Executive Chairmen of the Board of Internal Revenue of the 36 States, relevant Federal Government agencies, including the Federal Ministry of Finance, Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Joint Tax Board, the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, the Office of Accountant General of the Federation, as well as Development Partners.
The Conference will be opened by the Chairman of the NGF, Governor Abdul’aziz Yari, while goodwill messages will be be given by the Minister for Finance and heads of development partners.
