As part of measures to exhibit the desired change, the Niger State Government has disclosed that it will expose any corrupt official in the cabinet of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
The Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Comrade Jonathan Vatsa, in a maiden post-executive council meeting briefing in the Government House on Wednesday told Correspondents that the era of stealing was gone.
According to Vatsa: “The change we are talking about is not from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, but change in our attitude, perspective.
“For politicians, the days of taking away public funds is gone.
“The era of stealing is past and we will not condone that.”
Vatsa, who was accompanied to the briefing by the Commissioner for Health and Health Services, Dr. Mustapha Mohammed Jibrin, and the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Hajia Rahmatu Mohammed Yar’Adua, promised that the commissioners have already hit the ground running with permanent secretaries preparing their handing over notes in a week’s time.
Yar’Adua promised that all the projects to be embarked upon by the government will be people-oriented.
Speaking on better healthcare delivery in the state, Dr. Jibrin said at least 550 settlements in the state will benefit from quality healthcare service.
