NANTAP mourns two ABU lecturers who died in accident

Ozi Okoli, the National Director of Publicity, National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, on Tuesday described the demise of Prof. Sam Kafewo and Dr. Martins Ayegba as sad.
The two died in a car accident on Friday on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway when they were returning to Zaria, Kaduna State after a workshop on Theatre-for-Development in Abuja.
Both worked last at the Performing Arts Department of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Okoli said in a statement in Lagos that the accident was a very unfortunate incident and urged all road users to be careful on the highways.
He pointed out that that accidents had claimed many lives due to the carelessness of the drivers.
He said: “We cannot continue to lose lives on our roads, losing important people and loved ones in the country.
“It is very sad to hear news like this everyday.”
“NANTAP commiserates with the families of the deceased; the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts, ABU, Zaria, the Society of Nigerian Theatre Artists and the entire theatre practitioners of Nigeria and the world at large.

Kafewo was until his death the Head of Department, Theatre and Performing Arts, ABU, Zaria.
Kafewo was also the Secretary General of SONTA, the umbrella body of theatre arts lecturers in Nigerian universities.
Ayegba was a specialist in Theatre-for-Development and Development Communication at ABU, Zaria.
