A serving federal Permanent Secretary, Atiku Abubakar Kigo, two directors of the Federal Civil Service and three other persons are to be arraigned in Abuja on Thursday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with an alleged N14.3 billion scam rocking the police pension fund.
Others to be tried alongside Kigo are Esei Dangada, Ahmed Inuwa Wada, John Yakubu Yusufu, Veronica Uloma Onyegbula and Sani Habila Zira.
Kigo was the director of the Police Pension Office before he was made the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Niger Delta.
The acting Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development.
The accused persons are to be arraigned before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Gudu, on a 16-count charge of theft and money laundering.
They had been quizzed by the EFCC on the matter.
