The Minister of Sports/Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, is expected to hit the Faro, Portugal camp site of the Super Eagles on Monday.
Competent sources informed our correspondent that an advance team from the Ministry of sports had arrived Faro on Monday afternoon.
Bolaji Ojo-Oba, a director in the Ministry, left London on Monday morning for Faro in anticipation of the Minister’s arrival later.
Our source said: “Yes, we are expecting the Honourable minister to arrive here in Faro anytime from now.
“Probably, he will be here on Monday to boost the morale of the players ahead of the team’s departure to South Africa.”
It is recalled that the minister also visited the team’s camp in Abuja before their departure to Faro two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, fear and tension have engulfed the Faro camp of the National team following the decision of the coaching crew to drop four players.
With less than 48 hours to the deadline for the submission of the 23-man list, some of the players are now gripped by fear that they may not make the final cut.
Rabiu Ibrahim, Uche Kalu, Henry Uche and Papa Idris were on Sunday night sent packing from the camp.
At least, five more players are expected to be shown the exit door by the coaches in the next two days.
