Nigerian international, John Obi Mikel, has been effectively ruled out of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Stoke City.
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, hinted the foreign media that the midfielder would be unavailable for the Saturday’s duel due to injury.
“Mikel is injured,” Mourinho said.
The self acclaimed ‘Happy One’ has also confirmed that main forward, Samuel Eto’o, will not return in time to face Stoke.
The Cameroon international has not played for the Blues since coming off in the 6-0 victory over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
And Mourinho admits he is unsure of the return date for Eto’o.
The Portuguese tactician said: “I don’t expect Eto’o to be back.
“For the season, yes, he will be back, but I cannot say a match or a date where I expect him to be back.”
The Chelsea coach also revealed that Marco van Ginkel is still recovering from his lengthy setback.
“Marco van Ginkel keeps working on his way back and playing minutes with Under-21s.”
Mouringo went on to confirm that left-back Ashley Cole is back in his Blues squad for Saturday’s match.
“Cole is back in the squad. Nothing else I think,” he added.
