Mayweather: I’m not coming back

Unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he’s not going to make a comeback to resume his boxing career in 2016.
Mayweather was at last night’s fight between WBA “regular” super featherweight champion, Javier Fortuna, and Carlos Ivan Velasquez on Premier Boxing Champions on Fox Sports 1 at the Palms Casino and Resort, in Pearl Theater, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Mayweather, 38, made it clear that he has no intentions on returning to the game in the future.
Only time will tell whether he stays firm with his retirement stance.
Mayweather just got a series of big paydays recently with his six-fight contract with Showtime/CBS.
Mayweather might have a different stance once he’s burned through more and more of his fortune with his lavish spending habits.
“I’m not coming back, but, I’m just happy to be on the other side,” Mayweather said.
This news probably isn’t making Manny Pacquiao’s fans feel too good right about now.
They’re still hoping that Mayweather will return to the ring in 2016 so that Pacquiao will get a chance to avenge his defeat to him.
They feel that Pacquiao’s shoulder injury was the major reason why he came up short on May 2nd in the “Fight of the Century” between Mayweather and Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But without Mayweather coming back to give the Filipino star a second chance, he’ll never get the opportunity to test the fan’s hypothesis.
Pacquiao’s fans will have to live with his defeat and accept it somehow.
A lot of boxing fans believe that Mayweather will be back next year to fight Manny Pacquiao for a second big money payday against him.
Their previous fight last May gave Mayweather a guaranteed payday of $200 million.
Mayweather says he made $300 million for the fight.
