The Site Manager of Kebna ICT Joint Admissions and Matriculation Centre, Zuru, Kebbi State, Abubakar Ismail, has been arrested over allegations of stealing 83 pieces of HP laptops at the centre.
The complaint of the missing laptops was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Zuru, Kebbi State.
The report caused investigation to be launched.
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, speaking on the incident, said that the matter was reported to the police on November 20, 2022 at about 9am by the Manager of Kebna ICT JAMB Centre, Zuru, Dr. Michael Ezra Dikki.
Kontagora said: “He reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Zuru that on the same date at about 8:30am, he visited the centre, where he discovered that Abubakar Ismail, the site manager, had stolen 83 pieces of HP laptops, belonging to the centre, took them to Chukwudi P. Otutu of Otutu Computer Centre, Sokoto Town, Sokoto State and sold each one at the cost of N40,000.
“On receipt of the complaint, a team of Policemen swung into action and succeeded in arresting the suspect and recovered 76 pieces of the said stolen laptops.
“Investigation is in progress and the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.”
