A mentally deranged man carrying multiple bags invaded the Super Eagles trainingon Tuesday in Abuja ahead of this weekend’s all-important clash against Congo in Pointe Noire.
The mad man was almost finding his way onto the pitch at the FIFA Goals Project in Abuja before he was stopped by security operatives who bundled him out of the arena.
He demanded to be given the opportunity to play against Congo.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, has admitted that he is losing sleep over this weekend’s must-win encounter against the Red Devils of Congo in Pointe Noire.
The Big Boss said his worry stems from the fact that he has little or no time to knock his players into shape ahead of the game, which the Eagles must win to keep AFCON 2015 qualification hopes alive.
The visibly worried Eagles manager said after Tuesday’s work out, the first the team is having ahead of the all-important tie, that training only two or three times before the match is not the best for a team that is going into the mother of all battles in a difficult terrain like Pointe Noire.
Keshi said: “My only worry is that we don’t just have enough time to train and perfect our strategies.
“You can imagine that we have only Wednesday and Thursday to train before traveling the same Thursday, but we will see how it goes.”
The coach was however quick in saying that he is happy with the way his players approached the training session, pointing out that they showed signs of players ready to spill blood in Congo.
He said: “Well, what I saw yesterday was encouraging.
“The players trained with determination.
“I hope we will just concentrate, continue with that same attitude and pray that everything works out well for us in Congo.”
