There are fears that the Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Authority in Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan, has been kidnapped.
Information available to The Eagle Online has it that Bamigbetan was kidnapped by gunmen on Monday night as he returned home.
A source said Bamigbetan’s car was intercepted as he was about driving into his street around Egbe Bridge in Lagos.
His driver was said to be at the wheels when the suspected kidnappers struck at between 11pm and midnight.
Bamigbetan was Chief Press Secretary to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was the Lagos State Governor.
Before then, he was a high profile journalist.
He rose to become the Political Editor of Punch newspaper before he left journalism for politics.
Efforts to reach Bamigbetan via his mobile phone did not succeed.
The number is said to be switched off.
The Eagle Online gathered that the police in Lagos State will address the press on the issue any moment from now.
