Lawmaker commends security operatives for combating Boko Haram

Hon. Ali Dalori, representing Konduga in the Borno State House of Assembly, on Tuesday commended Nigerian security operatives for combating Monday’s suspected Boko Haram attack in Jakana, few kilometres from Maiduguri.
Dalori gave the commendation when he paid a sympathy visit to the community over the attack.
He said it was a thing of joy that security operatives performed gallantly in fighting the insurgents in spite of their limitations.
Dalori, who was accompanied by Alhaji Lawal Gana, the Caretaker Chairman of Konduga Local Government Area, said: “I wish to commend the gallant efforts of our security agents in fighting the attackers.
“This is a sign of patriotism and commitment to duty, which must be emulated by other Nigerians.”
Earlier, the Commander of the military in the area, Lieutenant Garba Ibrahim, told the visitors that the invaders attacked the town at about 10pm, using sophisticated weapons.
Ibrahim said: “They started attacking around 10pm, but security agents responded to their shot.
“So many of the attackers were killed while others escaped with bullet wounds.”
Ibrahim said two soldiers and two policemen were injured during the attack while 18 civilians were killed.
Dalori donated N100,000 for the burial of those killed.
He also donated some money for the treatment of those in hospitals following injuries sustained during the attack.
