Actions in the ongoing Kwese Basketball Premier League continues with table leaders, Kwara Falcons, who are unbeaten in six games so far, ready to tackle shaky Customs Basketball Club of Lagos.
Falcons, led by Coach Lateef Erinfolami, should have no problems facing the unstable Customs’ team who have yet to gain their momentum having lost most of their matches.
However, going by their last games, the Customs teamwere successful over Oluyole Warriors of Ibadan with 68-57 points and could be looking at using that to gain their much needed confidence.
Scot Nnaji, Customs Coach, told the News Agency of Nigeria that his team needed to play hard to get that confidence to matchup tougher oppositions in the competition.
Nnaji said: “We have a good team that needs more time to play together and gel properly, and this takes a lot of hard work and patience, but I am sure we will be at our best.’’
His Falcons counterpart, Erifolami, told NAN that his team was good because they had been able to understand what they need to do, especially being able to read the game.
He said: “I have a formidable team, we are looking forward to doing well every other time, and it doesn’t come easy, but with hard work and proper cohesion, we are getting it right.
“We have to continue to do what we have started and work more on our game plan and try and counter any other opposition’s game’s plans as well.’’
The Falcons team had spanked Police Batons 85-59 in their last game as they set sight on their next opponents, Customs of Lagos.
In other games scheduled to for Saturday, Anambra Flames will need to shake off the 60-70 embarrassing loss to Hoops and Read of Lagos as they meet Comets of Lagos.
Police Baton will face Oluyole Warriors in the battle of bottom teams, while Delta Force welcome high flying Hoops and Read in Asaba.
