Kwara United pick vital away point against TEAP in NNL match

Kwara United FC of Ilorin on Thursday in Abuja recorded a 2-2 draw against TEAP FC of Abuja in a Nigerian National League Week 13 Division A match.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Kwara United netted their first goal in the 26th minute of the game through a penalty kick well taken by Lateef Adigun.
Adigun, however, was sent off in the 90th minute after he got a second yellow card from the centre referee, Idris Umar, for a rough tackle on TEAP Assistant Captain, Adetola Ayooluwa.
The Afonja Warriors, as Kwara United are popularly called, got their second goal in the 36th minute through Segun Alebiosu to make it 2-0 at the end of first half.
TEAP rose to the challenge in the second half and got two goals in quick succession to level score against the visitors.
Kapgap Andrew reduced the tally to 1-2 for TEAP in the 55th minute before Angel Di Maria leveled scores for the home team in the 76th minute.
Ayooluwa told NAN that his team played to a 2-2 draw because of poor officiating of the match.
He said: “It was a bad officiating as far as I am concerned.
“The referee didn’t get it right, especially in the first half.
“He gave a penalty to Kwara United, which was not called for, and we went down from there, but we picked up in the second half and we were able to level scores.
“You can see that we are a very good attacking side and that helped us to get a draw though we had wanted a win.
“I am happy we were able to get a draw even against all odds because we played against the referee and Kwara United.”
Kwara United’s Coach, Samson Unuanel, told NAN that he was not happy with the outcome of the match, having lost a two goal lead.
Unuanel noted that this was the first time the team would be losing two goals since the beginning of the season.
He said: “I don’t want to blame anybody.
“I take the responsibility of the result but I am not happy.
“We are still among the top four teams in the league in spite the draw here in Abuja, but one point for me is not too good for us here in Abuja.”
