The Katsina State House of Assembly on Wednesday constituted an 18-member Committee to investigate the alleged misappropriation of N7.5 billion from the Local Government Joint Account.
The money was allegedly misappropriated by the immediate past administration of former Governor Ibrahim Shema.
The decision to probe the missing fund was sequel to a letter sent to the legislature by the state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari, on the matter.
The Assembly selected five members each from the three senatorial zones in the state to serve in the committee.
Alhaji Bello Abdu from Danmusa Constituency was named as Chairman, while Alhaji Salisu Mani would serve as Secretary.
Alhaji Yusuf Jibril was made Assistant Secretary, while Isyaku Mani would serve as Legal Officer for the committee.
The committee has two weeks to submit its report to the House.
