The Senate on Wednesday demanded for investigation into the Kaduna State crisis in Kasuwan Magani, which claimed many lives and led to destruction of properties.
The Senate decision was sequel to motion sponsored by Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi.
Coming under point of order, Senator Hunkuyi, who cited Orders 42 and 52, called the attention of the Senate to killings in Kaduna State, lamenting that they are inhuman, unmindful and unnecessary.
He said: “There are so many hoodlums carrying out these acts and it needs to be tackled.”
Also speaking, Senator Danjuma La’ah and Senator Philip Gyunka accused the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, of conspiracy in the crisis.
Senator Gyunka added: “We are not applying our intelligence to detect the roots of these issues.
“We keep hearing of weapons being imported.
“Who are those importing those weapons and why are they being imported?
“The security agencies should be invited to answer these questions.”
After exhaustive debate, the Senate urged the National Emergency Management Agency to step in and assist those who have been affected, especially those who have to go out on a daily basis to survive.
