Joshua to fight in Nigeria

IBF Champion, Anthony Joshua, is keen to fight in Africa.
The heavyweight kingpin recorded his 17th professional win, all by way of knockout, when he put brave Dominic Breazeale to the sword at London’s O2 Arena on June 25.
Now Joshua, born in Watford to a Nigerian mother and father, wants to fight on the continent. Joshua, who grew up for much of his early years in Nigeria before returning to UK, says he stays very much in touch with West African culture and hopes to fight there one day.
“I have Nigerian parents and I’m still very in touch with the culture as well,” the 26-year-old once said.
The Great Briton has now indicated that he would like to emulate his hero Muhammad Ali by having a huge fight in Africa. “Yeah, definitely,” he said.
“It’s been done before. It made massive news and was history. I think that would be massive. I would not turn that opportunity down. I’d like it to be in Nigeria or Ghana. Either one is good for me, anywhere.
“There’s no way I wouldn’t fight there. It would be class, the whole history of it. It would work.”
