The President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is seeking a six months extension of the emergency rule he imposed on Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
In a letter to the Senate on Wednesday, Jonathan said the situation in the three states warranted the call for the extension of the emergency rule.Owing to insurgency in the three states, the President declared a state of emergency there.
This was principally to curb the activities of dreaded sect, Boko Haram.
