The Southwark Crown Court, United Kingdom, where a former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, is being tried for charges bothering on corruption and money laundering, has gone on break.
The break is to enable lawyers involved the long drawn case to prepare for the second stage of the sentencing, which holds today and tomorrow.
The break started at 2pm.
It was learnt that Ibori will use the opportunity of the break to meet with his family members and supporters, most of who flew into the United Kingdom for the sentencing.
However, the meeting will only be with selected family members and supporters.
Some of Ibori’s supporters had earlier in the day been thrown out of the court premises by the London Metropolitan Police for unruly behaviour.
Ibori arrived the court this morning spotting a black suit and gold wrist watch.
The court is presided over by Judge Anthony Pitts.
