The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has carried out a minor redeployment of Senior Police Officers.
Those affected are States Commands Commissioners of Police and Heads of critical departments in the Force.
The development was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Among those affected by the deployment, which is with immediate effect are Okon Okon Effiong, who is to Head the Department of Finance and Administration ICT of the Force Headquarters, and Zachariah Fera, who heads to the Force Criminal Investigation Annex in Enugu, Enugu State.
For the States Commands, Nwonyi Emeka was deployed to the Rivers State Police Command as Commissioner and Gyogon Grimah to the Cross River State Police Command in the same capacity.
Adejobi said the deployment was a part of efforts by the I-G to achieve maximum impact in community-based and strategic policing.
The police spokesman said Baba urged the CPs to deploy requisite assets in ensuring sanity, professional standards and discipline in their new places of assignment.
He also enjoined them to ensure citizen-focused and community-oriented policing in their areas of responsibility.
He called for support and cooperation from the public to enable the newly posted senior officers to function optimally.
