The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Congress, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, says he will revamp agriculture in the state if elected.
The ADC candidate made the promise on Monday while addressing a crowd of supporters and party faithful at Iwere-Ile, the headquarters of Iwajowa council area.
Lanlehin said: “We are on a campaign tour of the 10 council areas of Oyo North and I feel so happy with your presence here today as always, as well as your support so far.
“We know this side of the state is our food basket and as such we are going revamp and build the state’s economy around agriculture.
“I can assure you that we are going to have a holistic approach to this, from provision of seedlings, to storage, to purchase of produce and also provision of non-interest loans to farmers.
“Our planned package for agriculture is rich and robust and also all encompassing, no stone shall be left unturned in making our state great again through agriculture.
“This side of our state is pivotal and of utmost importance in our plan, I promise that you shall be well involved in our programme since bulk of the state’s farmers and lands are here.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Deputy Speaker of the state, Musa Abdulwasi, led some other members of the state assembly in the campaign train to the zone.
