A team of detectives of the Delta State Police Command has raided a premises believed to belong to the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra in Asaba, the state capital.
The 10 suspects arrested were said to have recruited, indoctrinated new intakes and were on the verge of flagging-off their campaigns before police pounced on them.
The acclaimed leader of the proscribed group, Emeka Okafor, 52, was arrested alongside nine others, including Ndubuisi Ezeocha, Francis Onuigbo, Emeka Izigbo and Andrew Nwufulu.
Nemesis allegedly caught up with them after they attacked some vigilante men at Power-line and Ominigboma areas within the metropolis.
Parading them at the command headquarters in Asaba on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lucky Uyabeme, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said over 32 membership forms were recovered.
According to Uyabeme, 10 pairs of complete Biafra Police Uniforms, with name tags and other vital documents concerning the group, including 129 Biafra pounds and ten shillings, were equally recovered from them.
While he said the command would resist any attempt to turn the state to “a breeding ground for criminal activities”, he said the treasonable act of the suspects portray lawlessness and would be contended with in the court of law.
He listed other items recovered from them to include two military belts, seven hard note books of their minutes of meetings from 2010 till date and one expended cartridge.
Meanwhile, he said 64 cult members have turned a new leaf in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
They include 13 members of Maphites,18 members of Black Axe, 16 members of Bagger Vikens, eight members of Darkest, six members of Eiye, two members of Junior Vikens and one member of Roye.
