The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has begun preparations for the airlift of pilgrims back to Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Ahmed Idris, on Tuesday.
The statement specified that the first plane was expected to take-off on June 22.
Idris indicated that an 11-man committee on transport had visited Mu’assasa in Makkah to ensure smooth arrangement for the airlift
Ithraa Alkhair Ministry are those saddled with the responsibility of manning the pilgrims data and supply of names of pilgrims to appropriate authorities.
The Secretary, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sani Abarshi, led the delegation to Mu’assasa to ensure smooth flow of the airlift.
Sani assured that arrangements were in top gear towards ensuring the success of the exercise right from the first to the ninth plane.

Members of the committee include Alhaji Usman DPM, Board’s Director Personnel Management; and Alhaji Umar Ladan, Director, Information and Communication Technology.
Others are Alhaji Yahaya Yahaya, Deputy Director, ICT; Alhaji Faruku Jabbo, Assistant Director ICT; Alhaji Misbahu Aliyu-Mai-Mai; Alhaji Sanusi Zaki-Jimsy; and Sheikh Kabiru Wasagu, Staff Officer of the board.
Recall that pilgrims from Kebbi State were the first to be airlifted from Nigeria on May 15 to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj.
