Four groups collapse into APC in Delta

The Delta State chapter of the newly-registered All Progressives Congress on Wednesday celebrated the collapse of four political pressure groups into the party.
Led by the leaders of the Delta Force, Hon. Goddey A. Okorodafe, and Tina Ayonuvwe, the Delta Elites and their counterpart in APC Fans Club, the groups pledged loyalty to the blueprint of the party for the development of Nigeria.
The Protem chairman of the party, Chief Isaac Tobore Ajueshi, flanked by the chieftains of Congress for Progressives Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party from the 25 council areas of the state, who received them in Asaba, Delta State, lauded the speedy harmonization process of the party and the way and manner the men and women came together to promote love and peace for the entrenchment of the party.
He said the way Nigerians in general and the people of Delta State in particular received the merger party depicted a good innovation in the political environment.
He said the party has properly positioned itself to take over the government of the oil rich state from the Peoples Democratic Party.
He urged the new intakes, including those cross-carpeting from the Democratic Peoples Party and the Labour Party, to go to their respective wards to register as members of the APC.
He announced that the former structures of the ACN, CPC and ANPP remain authentic members of APC in Delta State, saying: “The arrangement is in the interim, pending the congress of the party when executives will be elected to man the affairs of the party in Delta State.”
According to him, the 14 years of PDP administration in Delta State, including that of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, whom he said was holding the state in hegemony for former Governor James Ibori, has left nothing much to desire in the state.
He warned members against PDP infiltration, saying: “If the party must grow in the state, PDP agents must not be admitted as members in the state.”
