Forte Oil tops gainers’ table as NSE All-Share Index drops by 0.17%

Activities at the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed for yuletide celebrations on a downward note with the investors’ net worth dropping by 0.17 per cent.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the All-Share Index lost 46.98 points or 0.17 per cent to close at 26,871.24 against 26,918.22 recorded on Tuesday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation, which opened at N9.255 trillion, lost N17 billion or 0.18 per cent to close at N9.238 trillion.
An analysis of the price movement table indicated that Nigerian Breweries recorded the highest price loss to lead the losers’ chart, dropping by N6.08 to close at N115.72 per share.
PZ trailed with a loss of N1.41 to close at N29.90, while Diamond Bank lost 70k to close at N152.30 per share.
Guinness declined by 50k to close at N122.50 and ETI depreciated by 21k to close at N16.49 per share.
Conversely, Forte Oil topped the gainers’ table, growing by N13.65 to close at N286.65 per share.
Mobil Oil followed with a gain of N12.80 to close at N143, while Nestle gained N10 to close at N800 per share.
Lafarge Africa increased by N2.80 to close at N98.80, while Flour Mills grew by 75k to close at N20.70 per share.
FBN Holdings drove the turnover volume, trading 30.17 million shares worth N142.925 million traded in 225 deals.
Zenith Bank followed with 26.51 million shares valued N364.81 million transacted in 257 deals, while GT Bank traded 18.49 million shares worth N350.51 million in 316 deals.
Consolidated Hallmark Insurance exchanged 15.53 million shares valued N7.76 million traded in two deals and Sterling Bank sold 9.27 million shares valued N16.68 million transacted in 1,021 deals.
In all, investors’ bought and sold 149.88 million shares worth N1.55 billion traded in 3,255 deals.
