Major sponsor of Nigerian national teams, Globacom, has advised the
Flying Eagles to make Nigeria proud at the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World
Cup, which kicks off in Turkey on Friday.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos, Globacom expressed
confidence in the ability of the team to do well when the global
competition starts.
Nigeria will play in Group B along with Portugal, Cuba and South Korea.
In the opening match of the Group, Nigeria will face Portugal while
Cuba will slug it out with South Korea.
According to Globacom: “The Flying Eagles’ have so far prepared very
well before going into the World Cup and we are convinced that they
will perform well.”
The Company also stated that the Nigerian team’s pedigree in this
competition is not in doubt.
“Nigeria is yet to win the Under-20 World Cup and we believe we have
all it takes at this time to make history. We call on all Nigerians to
pray for the team to excel,” the statement concluded.
Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigeria
Football Federation and the major sponsor of the Nigerian national
teams.
