The Federation of International Football Associations on Wednesday announced the eight cities which will host the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup slated to hold in Chile.
A statement on the world football governing body’s website said the cities’ selection was announced at a press conference held at the Ciudad Jardin in Vina del Mar, Chile.
The host cities are La Serena, Coquimbo, Vina del Mar, Santiago, Talca, Chillan, Concepcion and Puerto Montt.
According to the website, the Chairman of the competition’s Local Organising Committee, Cristian Varela, said the committee had been working to comply with the hosting requirements.
Varela said: “Although, we will face some major challenges in terms of organisation, infrastructure, training, volunteering, promotion and logistics, we have been working hard for the last two years.
“We are working to comply with each and every one of the football world’s requirements.”
The 16th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will hold from October 17 to November 8, 2015.
Nigeria has won the competition a record four times, with the last victory at the 2013 edition held in the United Arab Emirates.
The previous victories were in 1985, 1993 and 2007.
