President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that public buildings and facilities fly the National Flag at half-mast in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers.
The flag will fly half-mast from Monday to Wednesday.
A statement issued in Abuja by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, said the directive is to honour Attahiru and other 10 senior military officers who died in the May 21, 2021 plane crash in Kaduna.
The President also approved May 24 a work-free day for members of the Armed Forces.
