An Alternative Medicine expert, Dr. Yusuf Issa, has attributed most chronic health problems to food intakes.
Issa, a German-trained expert in complementary and alternative medicine, made the disclosure on Sunday at a lecture he delivered in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The lecture, organised by the Bodija Muslim Community, was entitled: “Prevention, Management and Possible Control of Terminal Diseases.”
According to Issa, majority of common illnesses are caused by factors that are completely in one’s control.
He said: “The fact is that you can take charge of your health and feel better than you ever have in your life.”
He advised people living with chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, congestive heart failure, prostate problems and others to make use of natural cure, rather than taking orthodox medications.
He said that using drugs to control such diseases always had negative effects.
He said: “The power is inside you.
“Your body can heal itself if given the correct conditions.
“Care, not treatment, is the answer.
“Drugs, surgery and hospitals are rarely the answer to chronic health problems.”
Issa, however, listed some tips that can be of help for both chronic and acute diseases.
They include drinking water regularly, especially first thing in the morning and sleeping between seven and eight hours daily in an airy room.
Others include eating fresh fruits, engaging in physical exercise for at least 30 minutes daily, light supper and slimming down.
