Ekiti Poll: Refrain from crisis, transport employers tell members

National President, Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Musa Isiwele, on Monday, called on the association’s members in Ekiti to shun any act that could lead to crisis.
Isiwele gave the charge in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja at the backdrop of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
The All Progressive Congress’ candidate in the election, Dr Kayode Fayemi, won the poll with 197, 459 votes against 178,121 votes of Peoples Democratic Party’s Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka, his closest opponent.
The RTEAN boss congratulated the governor-elect, Fayemi, and urged aggrieved parties in the election to tow the path of law in addressing their grievances.
He said: “I congratulate the All Progressive Congress and the governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi, on the victory at the poll.
“I know that in Nigeria, right from the time of Obafemi Awolowo’s Unity Party of Nigeria, anybody who loses election must complain in one way or the other.
“But, let us know that God is the giver and taker of all things. If God gives you, then we should congratulate you.
“I am happy about the election because there was no loss of life. I congratulate Nigerians on this.
“I call on my members in Ekiti to keep calm because what peace cannot give you, crisis will not give you. We are all Nigerians and we are ready to work with whoever is in power.”
Isiwele, however, called on Fayemi to carry everybody along but treat everyone equally.
He said: “Who voted for you or voted against you no longer matters here. As God has given you the victory, everybody is for you. Treat then equally.”
