Super Eagles’ Assistant Coach cum goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, has assured Nigerians that the team is ready to take on the Walyas Ibex of Ethiopia in Saturday’s match.
The former Eagles first choice in goal also disclosed that the competition among the goalkeepers is so fierce and he is happy that this would bring the best out of the three keepers and the team in general.
Shorunmu said: “We are very happy with what we have seen here since we started full training sessions.
“The players are aware of the pedigree of this game and every one of them wants to go to the World Cup in 2014.
“They have been putting up splendid performances in our training sessions and there are signs of good result to come as regards tomorrow’s match.
“What thrilled me most is the competition among my goalkeepers (Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide and Chigozie Agbim).
“The three of them are working very hard to be the first choice but we will pick the best and experience too will count in our selection.”
