Dolphins’ manager, Stanley Eguma, has rated high the club’s newly contracted striker, Ifeanyi Egwim.
Egwim made his debut for the club in midweek’s Nigeria Premier League match against Shooting Stars.
Egwim, who was at the center of a heated transfer battle between Dolphins and his former club, Rangers, was finally cleared to play for Dolphins on Sunday and came on as a late first half substitute on Wednesday, replacing Emem Eduok.
The dreadlocked striker failed to score but put the defence of Shooting Stars under pressure all through his time on the pitch, failing to score a one on one late in the game when he broke free after a defensive mix up by the Shooting Stars defence
Eguma said: “He did well when you consider the amount of pressure on him to deliver in his first game.
“We believe that with time, he will put his acts together.
“He is a very good striker with vision for goals and I know he will take his time and start scoring before long.
“We have clamoured for him for a long time and I thank God that we eventually got him. So we just wait for him to peak.”
