The rumour that spread on the social media on Thursday that Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is dead has been debunked.
Alison-Madueke’s family lawyer, Oscar Onwudiwe, debunked the report that the former minister was dead.
Onwudiwe spoke after he made contact with the former Minister’s husband, retired Admiral Alison Madueke.
The rumour was traced to an online news publication.
Onwudiwe said: “It’s not true.”
Alison-Madueke is in the United Kingdom where she is battling cancer.
The United Kingdom National Crime Agency had on October 2, 2015 invited the former minister over allegation of corruption.
She was released on bail by a court in the United Kingdom.
