A governorship hopeful in Delta State, Chief Peter Eloka Okocha, on Wednesdaypromised to introduce private sector mentality into the business of governance, come 2015.
The governorship aspirant maintained that good corporate governance would be the driving force of his government after swearing in.
Declaring officially for the race at the ultra-modern hall of the Peoples Democratic Party in Asaba, Okocha said his entrance into the race again depicts a new dawn for robust political economy in the state.
Between 2007 and 2009, Okocha was in court against the election that produced Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, averring that he was unlawfully excluded from participating in the race.
But on Thursday, Okocha said his petition was not against Uduaghan, but rather the process that characterized the election.
Ge said: “My government will be pan-Deltan.
“No part of the state will feel abandoned as I build on the legacy of the outgoing administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
“Civil servants must deliver efficient service and appropriately remunerated.”
While he listed education, agriculture, health, peace-building, inter and intra community harmony, industrialization, employment creation as top priority in his blueprint, Okocha said the 13 per cent derivation fund would be used solely for the oil producing areas.
He promised to use his wealth of experience as a member of the Board of Directors of many organizations to declare tenure of prosperity for the people of the state.
